I started counting weight watcher points again...you all know by now. Every time I need to drop a few I start counting points. I made it to my goal weight of 131 in a few weeks. Down from 136. Not sure if it is due to organs being removed from me during my surgery but hey...I will take it.
My blog went from the Tattooed Modern Wife to the Tattooed Modern Ex-Wife. More details to follow on my journey over the last year.

Weight update
Well thanks to the nororvirus I am back down to 130. Unfortunate way to lose weight but I hope I keep it off.

My Fat Ass Update
I haven't written about my weight in months! I was able to keep off all the weight I lost last spring up until Thanksgiving. I put on five pounds since. No surprise to me but I am glad it is not the 10 pounds I put on last winter. I am starting to work at getting it back off. Right now I weigh in at 135 pounds and I would like to get back to 131 - 132. If I cannot get it off in the next month I probably will be back on weight watchers. As if you all probably could not tell my recent recipe posts do not include weight watcher points or nutrition information!
The last month has been very exhausting for me with work and I really have not been exercising like I normally do. I found out I broke four ribs straight down the front from karate. It did not hurt like a break does on the side so I did not even know I did it until I went to the doctor to have him check a lump on my chest. The break was already a month old. After he told me there are four broken ribs I felt a little lower and found a huge lump under my breast tissue from another break. After I broke my ribs I was really sick and tired. I did not go to class as much and did not exercise so I did not feel the break. Once I started feeling better I went to class and offered my ribs up to a teenager that was training. That aggravated the breaks and shortly after I went to the doctor. I could not do crunches the last month and just started again. It hurt so badly! That was just before Christmas so it put a damper on my exercise plans for the holidays.
Hope your weight loss goals for the year are successful!

Weight Loss Update
Lately I have been a bit scared to get on the scale. For over a month I have been at a plateau, hanging around 133 – 134. I just did not want to get on the scale for more disappointment. Yesterday I got on the scale and weighted in at 132.2. Yippy! Minus implants that is 128.2. I am only two pounds away from the weight I was at in Curacao last year. I would like to be that same weight when Tony and I are in Aruba. Only three more months to get there. The bigger challenge is making it 8 months on weight watchers. The longest I ever went on weight watchers straight is 5 months. That is where I am at right now. Normally I give up counting points and rely on myself to maintain my weight but after about 4 or 5 months a few pounds are back. Sometimes not a big deal, but those few pounds turning into 10 then 15 over a 9 months to a year. I do not want to go back to counting on my own and then come Aruba time I put on 5 pounds. Five pounds might not be a big deal for a lot of people but on my small frame it is for me. Five more pounds means larger butt dimples, thighs that rub together, a giggly stomach, no cheek bone definition…yes really all of that from just five pounds.
My knee has been feeling so great lately. There are still times it hurts when I really give it in karate. I am starting to think it is as good as it is going to get. I can no longer use my knee as an excuse any more in karate. My instructor is pushing my limits now so I get comfortable again. Hurts at the time but I know I will thank him later. I know I need to do a better job since I am going to have my black belt soon. Even with my knee problems I still need to perform like a solid black belt…not an injured one.

April No Spend and Weight Up Date
Other than the few items Tony bought me last week, my no spend challenge this month has been going great. There was a jacket on sale at BJ’s I tried on but put it back on the rack. A year ago I would have bought it without even thinking twice. I am pretty proud of myself with how well I am doing. Saturday I went to The Southern Women’s Show with a friend and Tony went to the Cigar Expo with her husband. While in there I did not even think about spending money on anything. Pat on the back for me. However next month when I allow myself to buy something it is going to be new cardigans for work. I wear them everyday since the office is cold and I am wearing out the elbows.
I did not try out any new recipes this weekend. I really love the Greek Turkey burgers I made a few months back and made those Saturday. If you have not tried this recipe yet you really need to. They are amazing. I’ve been focusing more on eating what we have to keep our grocery bill down this month. I do have a large stock of nonperishable items and meat in the freezer.
I am down to 133.8 pounds now! I am only 3 more away from my lightest last year. Now I have to lose another weight watcher point though. I am already hungry enough the way it is and to lose another point is going to be hard. Really I would deduct the point at 130 pounds but my implants weigh about 4 pounds so my real weight is 129.8. Once I get to a comfortable weight I would not mind trying the Mediterranean diet which focuses on healthy oils, nuts, greens, and seafood – which I will not be eating the seafood.
Three years ago or so I asked Sprint to block picture mail and internet access on our phones since we do not have that plan. Yes I am too cheap to have internet on my phone. Lately I noticed we were getting billed for picture mail. They were small charges so I never really paid much attention to it. Tony and I never even receive notification we received picture mail so we do not know who was sending it to us. I went back through two years worth of Sprint bills online and found in November 2009 we started getting billed for picture mail again. Over the about year and a half it came to $7 in charges. Not a whole lot but I was mad we were being billed for them especially since we were not receiving notifications. I called Sprint to find out what was going on and my contract changed in 2009 and they did not roll over the internet and picture mail block. She credited me $75! I would have been happy with a $7 credit. Thank you Sprint!

Weight Loss Update
I am down to 135 now and this time it is not a fluke! The old weight watchers plan just works the best for me. I am back to where I was at Tim and Ashley’s wedding, four pounds away from where I was at in Curacao, and ten away from my goal. I am not sure if I will get to 125 but will try. I haven’t been that small in about 5-6 years. It was hard enough maintaining 131 and can’t imagine 125. It would at least be nice to get to 125 and then go off weight watchers. If the weight slowly creeps back up to 130 or 135 I will not be upset. Anywhere in that range is a good weight for me. At 131 I am a size 2 in women’s clothing so it will be really interesting to see what 125 will bring.

Hate Points Plus
I was shrinking but am not any more on the Weight Watchers Points Plus plan. My weigh in last week at 135 was a fluke. My Tuesday weigh in (the one that counts) only had me at 138.2. I am now in week 4 of the plan and by now on the old plan I would have lost at least 5 pounds. I emailed Weight Watchers because I want a refund for the three month membership I paid and the cost of new books and calculator. Go figure no response back. I spent around $90 on the new plan when all I want to do is switch back to the old plan. It really makes me angry all the money I spent and really with no results. I could have lost those two pounds on my own. No way I am going to lose another 8 on this plan by August. I feel like I've stabilized myself instead of losing.

I'm Shrinking
I was so skeptical of the new weight watcher plan. I about passed out when I got on the scale Sunday morning. I weighed in at 135.8. Down 4.4 since starting the plan almost two weeks ago. I love that I get to eat all the fruit I want for no points. Tuesday is my weekly weigh in and that is the one that counts. Hopefully I am still around 136. I can already tell my jeans are fitting much better. Back to where I was before my surgery.
I started going to karate again two weeks ago. So far it has been going well. I cannot spar or do line drill for probably another month. I need to take it slow getting back into things. I can fell my other knee is having issues. They are not as bad as my knee I had surgery on but with six months of over compensating for the bad knee the other one's issues came out. Both my knees were damaged in the car accident I was in back in 1998.

I'm So Tired!
This past week I've been so exhausted. I fall asleep as soon as I hit the bed which is not normal for me and am pretty sleepy through out the day. Really puts a damper on the love life. I think I figured out why I am so tired. This new Weight Watchers diet. As I posted before they are focusing on lowering the carb intake. I live off of carbs. They provide your body energy to get through the day. I am having a horrible time adjusting to not eating the amount I used to. I hope this changes soon.

My Fat Ass....Is Getting Smaller
Week one is over with on the new Weight Watcher plan and I am down to 137.8 so I lost 2.4 pounds in the first week. The plan is working but I wonder how long until I reach a plateau. I am glad I am just about to my happy weight which is 135-136. However, since Tony and I will be in Aruba in August I want to have a smoking body for the beach. I am targeting 125; the lowest I ever targeted in my weight loss. I do not think I've weighed that since about 2005. In 2007 when I was on Weight Watchers I got down to 128 but that only lasted about two weeks. I was 131 in Curacao and would be satisfied with that weight again in Aruba. At that weight I still have nice curves but am a bit worried any less and I may start looking like a boy...minus the implants.

Trip to Arizona and My Fat Ass
Tony and I were on vacation in Arizona Thursday through Monday. We were visiting his cousin Nichol and Katharine. We had such a great time with them. It really makes me wish we lived near them. We were even able to meet up with some friends we met in Curacao. The weather was amazing. It was in the 70’s most of the time we were there. I am not sure if I could live in a place that is so brown. There is very little grass. They even paint the buildings brown! That place is dying for some color. I only took a few photos. There really was nothing pretty to take a picture of. I will get them posted soon.
I dyed my hair before we went on vacation. Just some low lights. The gray is gone. Tony could not even tell I colored my hair but I did tell the stylist I did not want it to look like I dye my hair. He did buy me a new Michael Kors purse that I just love.
After we returned home from our vacation I was dreading getting on the scale. We ate so much food. My weight spiked to 140.2. I nearly put on all the weight I lost last year. Gained 5 pounds in the last month alone which is the most I ever gained in one month. I signed back up for weight watchers yesterday. This will be my first time on their new points systems. So far….I f*ck*ng hate it. They basically went from a low fat low cal diet to low carb. I hate low carb diets. Just about everything that was my go to food before is out of my points range. Right now it is just before lunch and I have been starving for an hour. I am doing the online program for three months. Since they revamped the points system I had to buy all new books and a calculator. Have I mentioned this diet blows?

My FAVORITE Diet Food is Back!!!!

Nearly two years ago my favorite diet food was discontinued. I love MorningStar Farms Veggie Corn Dogs. They have an amazing taste for not being meat and on the old Weight Watcher point system they were two points each. I was so mad when I found out they were discontinued that I wrote a letter to MorningStar begging them to bring these back. I only found one substitute from Trader Joes but they were not nearly as good and also higher points.
Today I was at Kroger and there they were. My heart skipped a beat. I grabbed three boxes and quickly threw them in my cart. I even called Tony to tell him what I found. Never have I been so excited about a food.
I made them for dinner tonight with french fries baked them in the oven. Tony does like the MorningStar brand. He always gave me crap for eating fake meat until he tried it. As I was putting the corn dogs on the plate I said out loud, "oooohhhh, how I've missed you." Tony laughed at me and for a brief moment thought his wife went crazy. They were just as good as I remembered and ate two of them in probably under two minutes. Now I have a stomach ache.
Just when I was about ready to type this blog post up I went to MorningStar's website to see if there was a press release or some other information about the return of the beloved corn dog. They do not even list the corn dog as a product! WTF? I ran to the box to check the expiration date. I was praying this was not something Kroger found in their back room. Date was OK. So again, I wrote MorningStar wonder what is up. Tomorrow I am going back to Kroger to buy out their stock.

There Goes My Weight Again!
I was so thrilled last week when my holiday weight started coming off. I was feeling confident. Then this morning weight myself and I went from 137 to 138.2. Okay, okay...it may not seem like a big deal to you all to put on a bit of weight but this is hard for me. My new treadmill does not arrive until January 24 and as mentioned earlier walking outside in my development is out of the picture. Even if I could with my knee I need to be in a place I can get back home or to my car easily if I have problems. Once my knee is healed and I am fully active again I am giving myself a month to drop 5 pounds. If I cannot I think it will be back on weight watchers for me. I want to look great for our trip to Aruba. Not sure when my knee will be fully healed. I hope by March.

New Year's Resolution
I am not a fan of New Year’s resolutions. Never made one. I really do not understand the point. If I really want to lose weight or do something different in my life I do not wait for a new year to start my plan.
I am so tired of hearing the phrase “A new year, a new you”. Really? Haven’t we been hearing that same phrase since the 80’s and yet people still chose the same New Year’s resolutions.
An article in Yahoo today was about how to get out of debt in 2011. How about you run that article prior to the Holiday shopping season so people do not overspend on gifts!
Another thing that bugs me about the people that decide they are going to lose weight for their New Year resolution is that from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve stuff their faces with candy, McDonald’s, and anything else they should not be eating. Those people are doomed at failure. It takes small steps to change a person’s eating habit. Going from engorging themselves in high fat foods to eating like a bird is not going to work.
For my weight loss I knew putting on weight was going to happen around this time of year because of my surgery. Am I making it my resolution to get the weight off? No! I am working on making sure that weight comes of sooner rather than later. Since last week I have been able 2.6 pounds off from the 4 I put on! It is not a resolution but my lifestyle. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you all I am now down to 137.4. Only a pound or two to go and I will be satisfied.
New Year’s Eve really has never been my thing. Tony and I normally have people over or stay at home by ourselves. Heck some years we were sleeping before midnight. This year we are going to go out to a pub. Our first time out in many years on New Year’s Eve. I have to wonder if we will make it to midnight!

Genetics
I have a love hate relationship by my genetics. There are many features I like and others not so much.
I am so thankful I did not get my mom’s ugly pinky toe. All my brother’s did. I got my dad’s cheek bones that I like. Hate being short but I can deal with it. My chances of heart disease are pretty high but I manage with my diet.
But the one thing I never thought I would see at my age just started showing up a few months ago. I have my dad’s forehead. I always knew my forehead took after grandma. It is high and defined and I liked it. But mix that with Dad’s wrinkles at the age of 28 and it is not looking so good now. I started trying collagen filler hoping it will help reduce the appearance of lines and it is NOT working. I need to find something stronger and I am not about to have a face lift before I turn 30…maybe when I turn 40. These wrinkles are not small baby wrinkles. They stretch straight across end to end of my forehead and there are three deep lines. Why do I have these? I am so young. Thank you genetics. Not even make up is reducing the appearance.
The other thing I hate the most other than my wrinkles is my ability to put on weight with little effort. I bust my butt to stay thin and it is so easy to put on weight. I have to eat like a rabbit to lose any weight. Since my knee surgery on December 8th I put on 4 pounds. It may not seem like a big deal to many but for me it takes a long time to get 4 pounds off. I knew I was going to put on weight after my surgery. With the holidays and the fact I was unable to exercise for three weeks really put damper on things. I finally got on my treadmill last night but am only able to walk at 2.5 with no incline. Never going to get the weight off going that speed for only 20 minutes! Saturday I weighed in at 140 pounds. Today was 138.6. Glad to see a few down but not good enough. The lowest I got to is when we were in Curacao in May. I was around 130-131. It was too skinny for me so not upset when I put on a few pounds. My happy weight is around 135-136 and I hope I get there by the time Tony and I go to Arizona. I am happy my size 4’s still fit me but a little snug. Mainly around my enormous ass.
I am sure genetics will continue to bit me in the ass as I get older. Speaking of my ass. I’ve about had it with my butt dimples. I slather on the cellulite cream every morning and every night. It does minimize the appearance but now I have to be careful with the pants I buy. If they are too thin I can see the dimples smiling through my pants. I started getting cellulite at the age of 24. It just did not show up dimple by dimple. One morning I woke up and discovered the collagen in my legs turned into a vacuum cleaner and sucked as much fat through as it could creating my butt dimples. I guess I cannot be too upset since about 80 to 90 percent of women have them. St. Ives Cellulite cream is what I use to minimize them.
The last thing that really bugged me about my genetics is my boobs. Ever since I was a little girl I looked at my mom then at her sisters and thought to myself I am going to have a nice rack. Well it never happened for me. My mom and my aunts are all D’s if not double DD’s and there I am with my tiny little A’s. Really….what the hell happened? Here I am now, the only one in my family that had to pay for my boobs and I still have the smallest chest. I bought C’s but they turned into D’s two years later when I had a growth spurt.
For now a feature I really love is my hair. I am not sure who in my family I got this thick head of blonde hair from. Bill and Jon both have thick blonde hair too. I have two stubborn gray hairs that show up every now and then but I pull them out. Nice thing with blonde hair is they hide out.
I just can’t wait as the years go on to find out more about my love hate relationship with genetics.

I'm Exhausted!
I had my knee surgery on Wednesday. Everything went great. Today I am back at work but can hardly think straight. I went off the pain meds on Saturday because I could not sleep. Tylenol and aspirin seem to be doing just fine for me. The last few days have been a complete blur. I am hobbling around OK. I do not get my stitches out until the 21st.
Tony has been working a lot so he has not been around to help me much. I am making out OK on my own but when he is home he tells me I am a horrible patient. I say he is a bad servant.
I was excited to get on the scale today to discover I had not gained any weight. I was a bit worried since I am not exercising and have been eating like crap. Maybe I am eating like crap but not over doing it.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Tony and I had a great Thanksgiving with our close friends. We are so lucky to have people we consider family in NC. Well Thanksgiving is our first start to the holiday eating season also called putting on the winter weight. Pounds gain...0...good job.
We did not do Black Friday. First time in a long time we did not get up early to go shopping. It was nice to relax this past weekend. I can't even remember the last time Tony and I had a four day weekend and just stayed home. We always travel somewhere. My Christmas shopping is almost done. Scored big at Kohl's and Macy's over the weekend.

Bike Fest
Saturday I started writing down weight watcher points again. I failed at losing any weight the last three weeks by attempting to do it on my own. It is amazing how well Weight Watchers works for me. I already dropped 2 pounds. Now only one more to go for my happy weight. Three if I want to fit into my skinny jeans.

Friday and Saturday was Capital City Bike Fest. It is neat to see a lot of motorcycles in the center of the city. Tony and I went downtown Friday night and Saturday after his work party. Saturday was miserably hot for a bike fest filled with thousands of people. It was probably near 100 degrees, 20 degrees above our normal temperatures for the year. It was cute on Friday. Tony took the day off to enjoy bike fest. He called me before noon wondering what time I was going to get off of work and then around 3:30 came to see me at work. I could tell he really wanted to spend the day with me. We ate dinner at Mecca Diner in downtown Raleigh. I wanted to eat there for a few years but they are cash only. Finally I had cash on me. The diner has been in business for over 80 years. Original tile is still in the door way and on the floor. The booths are half the size compared to today’s booths. Certainly could not be overweight and eat there. It feels like you are stepping back into the 1940’s. Good food and neat experience.

Tony has been on a cigar kick. I hate it. Stinks and I am sure will cause health problems for him later even with it being a few a month.
I see the doctor on Wednesday for my knee follow up. I can tell the shot is wearing off. My knee is starting to hurt again. I hope one more shot will do the trick.

My Boca Burger Diet
In an attempt to lose weight I am going to go on a Boca Burger diet. I ate them all the time when I first started Weight Watchers. They are only one point a burger and are a pretty good size. They are very filling but yet taste like something the cat vomited up. I ate one tonight and had to choke it down. At least it is helping me control my hunger for the rest of the evening. I hope to eat at least one four days a week. I am sure it will help me keep my weight down for as long as I can stand it. Now I have to figure out what to do about my snacking.
Oops... I Slipped Up.
I am really trying to drop a few pounds since putting 9 back on from my diet. Three would be nice…five would be awesome. I managed to get one pound off. The one thing that is nice when I am a bit heavier is I have a great behind. That sports reporter in the news recently about being harassed…I am proud to say with a nice pair of jeans on my rear rates the same if not better. However, when I put on a nice fitting dress I have to put Spanx over my Spanx. Or at least buy a slip to hide the cellulite giggle that has taken over my rear. Now I finally understand the purpose of slips. They are more than just protecting from static electricity.
I slipped up and went shopping on Saturday. It had been nearly 4 weeks since I was out shopping…a record for me. I really wanted a new dress for NYC. I need to look fabulous on the Sex and the City tour. I had it in my mind to just buy one dress and ended up with two dresses, two pairs of shoes, belt, purse, and a sweater. Ok….I went a bit over board but I am going to look fabulous. I can also wear the items to work so it is not a complete waste of money. The purse I bought is not the most fashionable but it is going to be great for using in NYC. It is a purse that I can adjust to go across my body leaving my hands free to take pictures and so on. At least it is made by The Sak. One of the dresses I bought was only $13 and it is so cute! I can either wear it with my new fabulous pair of gladiator inspired shoes or tall boots depending on the weather in NYC. Since I bought new clothes for the trip I am not going to spend any money on clothes in NYC. The purpose was to buy clothes to look fabulous there and not buy clothes there to look fabulous in Raleigh. My new goal is to make it two months without shopping and if I have to shop it will only be for Christmas gifts. I do like to get a head start on buying presents so it fits in the budget better. Two months may be very difficult but I am confident I will be able to do it. With my husband reading my blog I give him permission to make me return anything new I buy if I slip up.
